Sigel St. Michael and Stewardson-Strasburg advanced to the championship game of the Class 7-1A Sigel St. Michael Boys Basketball Regional Monday.

St. Michael opened the evening with a 52-22 victory over Dieterich.

In the second contest, Stew-Stras downed Newton St. Thomas 41-33. Stew-Stras trailed St. Thomas 9-8 after the opening quarter but came back with a 16-3 second period and that was the difference in the contest.

Wernsing tallied 13 and Kirby 12 for the winners who improve to 16-8. St. Thomas was led by Zumbahlen with 15.

St. Michael and Stew-Stras will meet for the championship today at 6 p.m.

Class 7-1A Sigel St. Michael Regional

Class 7-2A North Clay Regional

Effingham St. Anthony and North Clay will be playing for the championship of the North Clay (Louisville) Regional after both teams came out winners Monday evening.

The Bullpups defeated Hutsonville 48-12. St. Anthony was led in scoring by Josh Blanchette with 14 points and Kyle Stewart with 10.

St. Anthony improves to 14-6 on the season.

In the second contest, North Clay captured a 41-25 win over St. Elmo/Brownstown. The two teams were tied after the opening quarter and at the half before North Clay moved ahead 26-17 in the third period.

North Clay was led by Dakota Weidner with 10 points. SEB was led by Nathan Guise with eight.

St. Anthony and North Clay meet Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. for the regional championship.

Class 7-3A Teutopolis Regional

Teutopolis and Casey-Westfield will meet for the championship of the T-town Regional after both nabbed victories Monday evening.

Teutopolis took a 25-12 first half lead and never looked back in a 42-22 win over Jasper County.

Bannick scored 14 and Bushur 11 for the Shoes. Jasper County was led by Meinhart with seven.

In the second contest, Casey-Westfield defeated Red Hill (Bridgeport) 47-39.

T-town faces Casey-Westfield st 6 p.m. Thursday for the regional championship.

Class 7-3A Regional

Class 7-4A Taylorville Regional

Charleston and Stephen Decatur will square off for the championship of the Taylorville Regional.

Charleston beat Mattoon 37-34 while Stephen Decatur won over Taylorville 49-42.

Stephen Decatur and Charleston meet for the title today at 6 p.m.
