Bulldogs Lose By One, T-town Downs Breese Central in Girls Action

Effingham St. Anthony High School dropped a one point loss to visiting Flora in girls basketball competition Saturday, 41-40.

The Bulldogs held a 12-8 opening quarter lead and led 22-18 at halftime. St. Anthony was still in charge at 30-27 going into the final period.

But Flora came back with a 14-10 rally to pull out the one-point win. In that rally, Krutsinger tallied nine points, hitting a three-pointer, and three regular baskets, She finished with 18 to lead the Wolves.

St. Anthony was led by Meg Richards and Keri McGuire with nine points each. Richards had five assists in the contest. Olivia Clausius led in steals with three and rebounds with five.

The Bulldogs drop to 12-8 on the season.

St. Anthony won the junior varsity game 23-6.

Teutopolis captured a 56-44 win over Breese Central in competition Saturday.

The Wooden Shoes edged out to a 15-13 opening quarter lead and pushed that to 30-21 at halftime. T-town had a 26-23 second half.

Jamie Sandschafer tallied 14 points for the Shoes while Shelby Thompson chipped in with 10. Sadie Bueker led in assists with four. Thompson pulled down six rebounds while Jolene Bueker and Marianna Hemmen had five each.
