DIETERICH -- Dieterich High School edged out to a 9-8 opening quarter then went on to beat Palestine/Hutsonville 66-46 in girls basketball competition Tuesday evening.

The Movin' Maroons had a 23-12 second period run. Anna Shadle had a 24 point night, connecting on six field goals that included two three-pointers and was 10 of 13 at the line. Jennifer Robards added 14 points and led in rebounds with 10. Gracie Britton tallied 12 points. Britton and Shadle had three assists each. Robards led in steals with six.

Dieterich improved to 3-14 on the season.
