Effingham St. Anthony Junior High School fell to Centralia in boys basketball action Monday evening.

In the seventh-grade game, Centralia picked up a 42-27 win. Centralia led 25-10 at halftime. St. Anthony was led by Josh Blanchette with nine points and Thomas Chojnicki with eight.

In the eighth-grade contest, Centralia picked up a 57-24 win. Centralia jumped out to a 40-12 halftime lead and never looked back. St. Anthony was led by Lawrence with six points.

At Effingham

St. Elmo/Brownstown captured two victories over Effingham Sacred Heart Monday.

SEB downed the Shamrocks 41-37 in seventh-grade action. Smith led SEB with 13 points while Myers and Grull had 11 each.

The Shamrocks were led by Feldhake with 13.

In eighth-grade play, St. Elmo/Brownstown defeated Sacred Heart 51-26. Rosborough tallied 11 points for the winners. Sacred Heart was led by Wallace with 11.

At Strasburg

Stewardson-Strasburg split victories with Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Monday.

In the seventh-grade contest, Stew-Stras was a 33-22 winner. Stew-Stras held a 17-9 halftime lead then had a 13-5 third quarter. Wernsing led the way with 14 points while Kirby added 11. Stew-Stras is now 12-7 on the season.

In the eighth-grade contest, ALAH was a 36-15 winner with a 23-6 second and third quarter. Walden led Stew-Stras with five points. The squad fell to 1-14.
