Junior High Boys Basketball -- Dec. 19

MATTOON -- Teutopolis Junior High School picked up two wins over Mattoon in boys basketball competition Monday evening.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade encounter 38-33. Mattoon took a 13-10 opening quarter lead and led 15-14 at halftime. T-town then came back with a 15-6 third quarter and had to hold off Mattoon in the final period.

T-town was led by scoring by Bushur with 21.

In the eighth-grade game, T-town easily won 47-16. The Shoes led 31-8 at halftime.

Addis tallied 11 and M. Deters 10 for the winners.

At Louisville

North Clay (Louisville) and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City spilt victories Monday evening.

CHBC won the seventh-grade game 49-33. CHBC held a 26-17 halftime lead then went into the final period leading 38-23.

Kade Persinger tallied 16 points while Waylon Robertson added 13 for the winners. North Clay was led by Bryton Griffy and Holden Dawkins with five each.

In the eighth-grade contest, North Clay was a 45-34 winner. North Clay held a 20-16 halftime lead then had a 25-18 second half run.

Anthony tallied 15 points while Bible added 14 for the winners. CHBC was led by Persinger with eight.
