Teutopolis Edges Olney in Girls Basketball

TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis High School edged Olney 56-55 in girls basketball competition Saturday.

T-town took a 10-6 opening quarter lead. Jolene Bueker and Sadie Bueker connected on two baskets each. Shelby Thompson then started to roll in the second period, hitting two trifectas and a regular basket for eight points and the Shoes moved ahead 30-15 at halftime.

The Tigers came back with a 24-13 third period run, connecting on four trifectas. Olney moved within 43-39 going into the final quarter.

Olney then had a 16-13 final period run but the Shoes held on for the one-point victory.

Thompson tallied 15 points on six baskets including three from three-point range. S. Bueker chipped in with 11 points. J. Bueker pulled down six rebounds while Drees had five. Jamie Sandschafer had three steals. Raegan Drees led in assists with four.
