Bulldogs Down CHBC; Other Tuesday Area Scores

The St. Anthony Bulldogs posted a 78-47 win over the CHBC Bobcats in National Trail Conference basketball action Tuesday night. The game at Beecher City was heard on 979XFM and www.979xfm.com

The game was a see-saw affair for the next several minutes before the Bulldogs started to pull away. St. Anthony led 20-13 after one quarter, then outscored the Bobcats 19-8 in the second period to lead 39-21 at halftime. A 22-14 third quarter edge extended the Bulldogs' lead to 61-35, and St. Anthony outpointed CHBC 17-12 in the final quarter to account for the 31-point victory.

Five Bulldogs finished in double figures, with Drew Gibson leading the way with 21 points. Also in double figures was Cade Walsh with 13 points, Alex Deters with 11 points, and Adam Levitt and Jack Nuxoll each with 10 points. Also for St. Anthony: Wyatt Lawrence 5, Luke Ludwig 4, Alex Beesley 2, and Ben Strullmyer 2.

Konner Blackerby led the way for the Bobcats with 20 points. Aaron Nohren was also in double figures with 12 points. Also for CHBC: Cody Grove 4, Brody Phillips 3, Mason Stewart 2, Marshall Nohren 2, Nick Miller 2, and Trey Buzzard 2.

St. Anthony shot 48% from the field, 32 of 67 including 3 of 13 threes. They made 11 of 20 foul shots, turned the ball over 11 times and grabbed a whopping 40 rebounds. 

CHBC shot 43% from the field, 20 of 47 including 1 of 10 threes. They made 6 of 10 foul shots, committed 22 turnovers and pulled down 26 rebounds.

St. Anthony improved to 5-1 on the season, while CHBC is now 1-2 on the campaign.

St. Anthony won the JV game 58-29. Jaccob Dust led St. Anthony with 15 points, while Bryson Wall and Alex Brandenburger each scored 12 points. Nick Miller led CHBC with 6 points.
