EIU Basketball Home Games To Be Broadcast

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois Athletics has announced that it will broadcast nine men’s and women’s basketball home games during the 2016-17 season on WEIU TV in addition to the two home contests previously announced for broadcast on American Sports Network as part of the Ohio Valley Conference TV package.
 
The broadcast schedule will tip off on Monday, Nov. 21 when the Panthers host Troy for their annual Kid’s Day game at Noon in Lantz Arena.  The EIU men will then host Bradley on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m.  The final two men’s games on WEIU will be part of Saturday OVC Doubleheaders with the Jan. 28 game against SIU Edwardsville and the Feb. 4 game against Tennessee Tech.  Both games will have a scheduled start time of 3:15 p.m.
 
The women will have five home games broadcast on WEIU TV beginning with their Monday, Nov. 28 home date with regional rival Indiana State at 6 p.m.   The four additional women’s game set for WEIU are all Saturday OVC games against Austin Peay on Jan. 14; SIUE on Jan. 28; Tennessee Tech on Feb. 4 and Southeast Missouri on Feb. 11.   The games against SIUE and Tennessee Tech will part of doubleheaders on WEIU with the women’s game tipping off at 1 p.m. both days.   The Jan. 14 game against Austin Peay is scheduled to tip off at 1:30 p.m. following the men’s game earlier that morning against Austin Peay at 11 a.m. on American Sports Network.  The Feb. 11 game against SEMO is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. tip following the men’s home game at 1 p.m. on American Sports Network.
 
The Panther men have two previously announced home games on American Sports Network on Jan. 14 against Austin Peay at 11 a.m. and Feb. 11 against Southeast Missouri at 1 p.m.
 
EIU currently has four road games that will be televised beginning with the Nov. 17 game at Saint Louis scheduled for Fox Sports Midwest Plus.  The Panthers Dec. 17 game at Missouri will be carried by the SEC Network.  EIU has two conference road games set for television with the Feb. 2 game at Tennessee State scheduled for CBS Sports Net and the final regular season game at SIUE set for Fox Sports Midwest.
 
All EIU home games will be broadcast on the OVC Digital Network, the conference’s free online streaming platform.  Links to games can be found at www.OVCDigitalNetwork.com  All OVC road games for men’s and women’s basketball will also be available on the OVCDN.
 
The Panthers open the regular season this Friday at home with a doubleheader as the women host Millikin at 5:15 p.m. followed by the men’s game against Saint Francis (Ill.) at 7:30 p.m.   Tickets are available by calling 217-581-2106 or online at www.eiupanthertickets.com
