Effingham St. Anthony Junior High School captured two victories over Jasper County in girls basketball action Tuesday.

The Bullpups won the seventh-grade contest 27-8, taking a 17-4 halftime lead. Elizabeth Kabbes scored nine for the Bullpups. Jasper County had four players with a basket each.

In the eighth-grade contest, St. Anthony won 34-18. Kabbes and Taylor Ritz tallied nine points each. Jasper County was led by Whitney Zumbahlen with 10 points.

At Dieterich

Dieterich Junior High School scored 25 points in both the seventh and eighth grade girls basketball games Tuesday evening and won both.

In seventh-grade play, Dieterich took a 25-16 win over Neoga. Meinhart led the winners with eight points. Neoga was led by Morrisey with six.

In the eighth-grade contest, Dieterich won 25-14. Locey led the winners with seven while Neoga was led by Phillips with nine.

At Sigel

Sigel St. Michael and Altamont split victories Tuesday evening.

St. Michael was a winner in the seventh-grade contest 30-18. The Sharpshooters held a 23-8 halftime lead and never looked back. Cremens tallied 12 for the winners. Walker led Altamont with eight.

In the eighth-grade contest, Altamont edged St. Michael 29-26. Runge tallied 15 for the winners. Niebrugge led the Sharpshooters with 13.
