St. Anthony Wins Twice; Sacred Heart Splits

Effingham St. Anthony captured two victories over Dieterich in junior high girls basketball competition Monday evening.

The Bullpups claimed a 25-4 victory in seventh-grade play. Mary Ann Saba tallied 17 of St. Anthony's points.

In eighth-grade action, St. Anthony won 35-11. The Bullpups led 20-5 at halftime. Jenna Woltman scored 12, Kaylee Horn seven and Kristin Slaughter seven.

At Olney

Effingham Sacred Heart split wins with Olney St. Joseph. The Shamrocks picked up the seventh-grade contest 28-16. Carie tallied 12 to lead the way.

In eighth-grade action, St. Joseph took a 39-23 victory. Sacred Heart was led by S. Webster with 16.
