AP Class 1A, 2A All-State Boys Basketball Teams Named

The Illinois Associated Press Class 1A and Class 2A All-State boys basketball teams were voted on by a statewide panel of sportswriters and broadcasters. There were 26 voters in each class.

Named to the Class 1A First Team were Matt Chastain (LeRoy), Noah Frederking (Okawville), Ross Owens (Woodlawn), Phelan Kelly (Brimfield) and Darius Branch (Chicago Leo).

Named to the Class 1A  Second Team were Darias Oliver (Chicago Leo), Teddy Fifer (Metro-East Lutheran), Keegan Bertsche (Flanagan-Cornell), Jered Cain (Patoka) and Jack Clausel (Newark).

Effingham St. Anthony's Drew Gibson, a 6-foot-3 junior, guard, earned Honorable Mention.

Other area players earning Honorable Mention were LaRon Anderson (Sandoval), Kollin Seaman (Arcola) and Brandon Williams (Sandoval).

Named to the Class 2A First Team were Donovan Oliver (Kewanee), Raekwon Drake (Chicago Orr), Noah McCarty (Sterling Newman), Dakota Bennington (Peoria Christian) and Brandon Trimble (St. Joseph-Ogden).

Named to the Class 2A Second Team were Logan Kohrmann (Breese Central), Gentry Whiteman (Rockridge), Brandon Suggs (Winnebago), Royce Newman (Nashville) and Matt Wendling (Athens).

Teutopolis' Brett Mette, a 6-foot-5 senior, center, was named Honorable Mention.

Other area players named Honorable Mention were Brandt Cochran (Lawrenceville) and Zach Fisher (Monticello).
