T-town, Sigel St. Michael Advance To Eighth-Grade State Boys Tourneys

TOLEDO -- Teutopolis Junior High School advanced to the Class 8-3A State Boys Basketball Tournament with a 42-30 win over Marshall in the Cumberland Sectional Wednesday evening.

The Shoes took a 12-8 opening quarter lead and had a 16-10 final quarter run for the 42-30 win.

T-town was led by Hardiek with 14 and Ungrund with 13 points.

The Shoes now advance to the state tournament at Tolono Unity Junior High School with a 22-3 record. The Shoes will face Pleasant Plains (21-2) at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Class 8-1A Sigel St. Michael Sectional

Sigel St. Michael captured the championship of its own sectional Wednesday evening.

The Sharpshooters downed Mulberry Grove 40-31 to improve to 21-4 on the season. St. Michael will now head to the Class 8-1A State Tournament at Bartonville Limestone High School Saturday.

St. Michael will square off against Griggsville-Perry (17-7) at 2:30 p.m.

 

Class 8-2A St. Elmo/Brownstown Sectional

Effingham St. Anthony saw its season come to a close at the St. Elmo/Brownstown Sectional.

The Bullpups fell to Nokomis 42-39. No other information was provided.

 

Class 8-4A Effingham Sectional

Champaign Jefferson edged Charleston 32-31 to win the Effingham Sectional.

Champaign Jefferson advances to the Class 8-4A State Tournament Satudray with a 19-6 record.
