Shoes #4 in Final Girls Poll of Season

The Teutopolis Shoes completed their regular season rated #4 in the state in Girls Class 2A basketball.

Teutopolis, now 23-6 after winning their regional opener Tuesday night, held onto the same spot in the ratings as the previous week behind top-rated Piasa Southwestern, Breese Central and Knoxville. Breese Central dropped from #1 to #2 despite getting seven first place votes, two more than Piasa Southwestern. Knoxville got the other first place vote. Hillsboro moved up a spot to #5 in the 2A poll.

Also in the girls ratings, Charleston got a vote in the 3A poll. Central A&M is the #1 team in the 1A poll, with 11 of the 14 first place votes. Central A&M is 26-1 after winning their first regional game Tuesday night.

In the boys polls, Teutopolis took a three-spot jump back up in the ratings to #7. The Shoes are 21-5 on the season after a good week last week. Lawrenceville is #9 in 2A at 25-2. Breese Central is #3 in 2A and received a first place vote.

Also in the boys ratings, Woodlawn is #2 in Class 1A, Centralia is #8 in 3A, and Edwardsville is #6 in Class 4A.
