Chicago coach Fred Hoiberg dismissed the idea that the Bulls might be better off without Joakim Noah.

"I don't think you could find one guy in that locker room that would say we're a better team," Hoiberg said. "He does so many things."

The Bulls will face plenty of challenges playing without Noah, but they're off to a good start after Monday's 111-101 win over the Detroit Pistons. Pau Gasol had 31 points and 12 rebounds, and Derrick Rose added 20 points for Chicago.

Noah dislocated his left shoulder Friday and likely will miss the rest of the season, but the Bulls have had success without him. They improved to 9-2 in 2015-16 when he doesn't play.

"I'm not going to say that we're over him or we don't need him. We need him for sure," Rose said. "But we're professionals. We know that once someone goes out, somebody has to step in and do that job, and we believe in everybody on this team."
