CENTRALIA -- Effingham St. Anthony fell in seventh-grade boys basketball action to Centralia 35-33 in overtime Monday evening.

The two squads were knotted at 15-15 at halftime. Centralia then had a 10-7 third period edge but St. Anthony came back to tie the score at 30-30 sending the game into the overtime session. Centralia then had a 5-3 edge for the victory.

Walsh tallied 15 for the Bullpups.

At Altamont

Altamont split victories with Shelbyville Moulton Monday evening.

Moulton claimed the seventh-grade contest 38-30. Moulton held a slight 17-15 halftime lead then had a 21-15 second half run.

Eirhart led Altamont with 10 points while Brewer added eight.

In the eighth-grade contest, Altamont claimed a 39-33 win. The Indians led 18-14 at halftime then had a 14-7 third quarter run and held off Moulton in the final period.

Kollmann scored 13 and Gelsinger 12 for the winners.

At Newton

Dieterich and Jasper County picked up a victory each Monday evening.

Dieterich claimed the seventh-grade game 38-29. The winners held a 22-19 halftime lead then had a 16-10 second half.

Kuhl tallied 12 for Dieterich. Jasper County was led by Evan Schafer with nine.

In eighth-grade competition, Jasper County picked up a 44-28 win. Jasper County led 23-13 at halftime.

Jarrett Tharp scored 15 for the winners. Hartke led Altamont with seven.
