Neoga, BSE Unbeaten in CHBC Girls Thanksgiving Tourney

COWDEN -- Neoga and Brownstown/St. Elmo are both at 3-0 in the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Girls Thanksgiving Tournament after action Friday.

Neoga claimed a 71-39 victory over host CHBC. Neoga held a 42-20 halftime lead and was led by EC Thies with 30 and Jaycie Roy with 16. CHBC was led by Tabitha Endsley with 15.

The Indians also claimed a 70-43 win over Dieterich. Thies scored 21, Roy 18, Blair Banning 11 and Tiffany Roderick 10 for the winners. Dieterich was led by Kelsey Webb with 11.

BSE downed Ramsey 47-24. BSE edged out in the opening quarter then held a 23-14 halftime lead. Morgan Brown and Gabi Moore had 11 points each for the winners.

BSE then won over CHBC 65-45, stepping out to a 40-21 halftime lead. Dana Shelton tallied 23, Elizabeth Bone 14 and Elissa Baron 10 for the winners. CHBC was led by Skylar Morrison and Endsley with 13 each.

In the other games, North Clay (Louisville) defeated Dieterich 52-43. Alyssa Groves and Taylor Jones provided the one-two scoring punch with 18 and 17 points respectively.

North Clay then won over Ramsey 46-34. Jones scored 19 and Mikayla Stanfield 12.

Neoga and BSE stand at 3-0 while North Clay is 2-1, Ramsey 1-2 and Dieterich and CHBC at 0-3 each.
