TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis Junior High School nabbed two victories over Effingham St. Anthony in girls basketball competition Thursday.

T-town won the seventh-grade game 19-14. The Shoes held an 11-4 halftime lead. Carly Michels scored 12 for the Shoes.

Riley Guy led the Bullpups with 10 points.

In eighth-grade action, T-town was a 36-13 winner. The Shoes ran out to a 23-1 first half lead. Olivia Niemerg led eight players in scoring with 10 points.

St. Anthony was led by Katie Rogers with six points.

At Newton

Jasper County bounced Robinson to the tune of 38-8 in seventh-grade girls competition Thursday.

Jacey Parr and Graci Michl scored 10 points each for the winners.

In eighth-grade action, Jasper County held a whopping 42-4 halftime lead and went on for a 52-8 win. Brooke Jansen scored 14 points and Josie Grunloh 12.
