Marc Bain will coach the new combined Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick boys basketball team.

Bain has been coaching the Cowden-Herrick team. He was approved by both the Cowden-Herrick and Beecher City school boards for the new position. Andrew Noble, who helped with the Beecher City squad, will serve as Bain's assistant.

Meanwhile, Noble has been chosen varsity coach for the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City baseball team. Bill Hammer, who earlier resigned as varsity coach of the Beecher City team, has agreed to serve as assistant coach, and Mitch White will serve as an unpaid assistant coach.

Beecher City Athletic Director Carolyn Wendte said the school districts have agreed to maintain the team nicknames and colors for the coming school year. Beecher City will serve as the host school for high school boys basketball, while Cowden-Herrick will serve as host school for high school baseball, junior high boys basketball and for high school and junior high volleyball.

Katy Noble will serve as varsity volleyball coach.

Wendte said students at both high schools will vote in September on new school colors and team nicknames for the combined sports teams for future years.
