CASEY -- Casey-Westfield High School has hired a new boys basketball coach. Named to the position was Kyle Watson, who will be leaving Blue Ridge where he has coached for six years.

Watson had a 79-98 record at Blue Ridge and claimed a Class 1A regional title in 2010-11 and reached the Sweet Sixteen. He was also the athletic director at Farmer City for the last two years.

Watson will teach social studies at Casey-Westfield. He replaces Jason Hanson who resigned to take the coaching job at Teutopolis High School. Last season the Warriors went 19-12 and made an Elite Eight appearance for the first time in the school's history.
