SIUE Men's Non-Conference Basketball Schedule Announced

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- SIUE men's basketball will play host to Saint Louis, Portland State, and Campbell as well as make trips to Southern California, Butler, and Northwestern as part of its nonconference 2015-16 schedule.

"Our schedule will be challenging, but we want to measure ourselves against the best," First-year Head Coach Jon Harris said. "We have some good experiences built in for our guys with opportunities to play at Big 10 and Pac 12 programs.

"We want to give our fans games to be excited about," Harris continued. "Hosting Saint Louis this year will be great for the community."

The Cougars also will welcome Grand Canyon to the Vadalabene Center during the nonconference portion of their schedule. SIUE will travel for games at SIU Carbondale, Milwaukee, and IPFW.

The nonconference schedule will complement the 16-game Ohio Valley Conference slate, which includes home dates with OVC Tournament champion Belmont, Morehead State, Eastern Kentucky, Murray State, Austin Peay, Eastern Illinois, Southeast Missouri, and UT Martin.

"Our team is excited to begin a new era in Cougar basketball," Harris added.
