Class 1A, 2A Girls All-State Teams Named

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS -- The Class 1A and Class 2A All-State teams for girls basketball in Illinois were named Thursday.

Members of the Class 1A First Team were Grace Baalman (Hardin-Calhoun), 6-foot-2 sophomore forward; Paulina Castro (Elgin Harvest Christian), 5-foot-6 junior guard; Ashley Schneider (Nokomis), 5-foot-10 senior forward; Lexi Macomber (Lanark Eastland), 6-foot-0 senior forward and Corrie Reiley (Prophetstown), 5-foot-4 senior guard.

Members of the Class 1A Second Team were Vanessa Markert (Brown County), 6-foot-2 senior center; Jayde Van Hyfte (Annawan), 6-foot-1 senior forward; Ryan Dooley (Moweaqua Central A&M), 5-foot-7 junior guard; Addison Stoller (Cissna Park), 5-foot-10 junior guard and Morgan Van Hyfte (Annawan), 5-foot-11 junior guard.

Honorable Mention from the area went to Madison Butler (Neoga), a 5-foot-3 senior guard.

Named to the Class 2A First Team were Khadaizha Sanders (Bishop McNamara), 5-foot-6 senior guard; Kendra Wilken (Breese Central), 6-foot-2 junior center; Brittin Boyer (Sullivan), 5-foot-11 senior forward/center; Lexi Wallen (Champaign St. Thomas More), 6-foot-0 senior forward and Ellie Lehne (Byron), 6-foot-2 senior forward.

Named to the Class 2A Second Team were Madison Greeling (Piasa Southwestern), 5-foot-6 junior guard; Jordi Harre (Nashville), 5-foot-7 senior guard; Jill Berg (Midwest Central/Delevan), 6-foot-1 junior forward; Megan Axcell (Knoxville), 5-foot-1 junior forward and Abby Brockmeyer (Litchfield/Raymond Lincolnwood), 6-foot-1 sophomore center.

An area player named Honorable Mention was Emily Neuhauser from Sullivan, a 5-foot-6 senior guard.
