Neoga's E.C. Thies Competing in Three-Point Showdown at State

Neoga High School's E.C. Thies will be competing in the Class 1A Country Companies Three-Point Showdown at the Girls State Basketball Tournament today.

Thies, a junior, will compete in Group 2 at the South Basket. She is one among 32 players competing beginning around 5 p.m. at Redbird Arena in Normal.

Also from around the area competing in 1A is Christonia Saddler, a junior, from Sandoval and Taytum Murdock, a sophomore, from Woodlawn. Two players from Moweaqua Central A&M, Taylor Jordan, a senior, and Mikah Maple, a junior, will take part.

Competing in Class 2A is Tessa Laino, a junior, from Robinson and Kelsie Ferrell, a junior, from Lawrenceville.

Class 1A State Tournament

At Normal

Game 1 -- Moweaqua Central A&M vs. Prophetstown, noon

Game 2 -- Hardin Calhoun vs. Iroquois West, 2 p.m.

Class 2A State Tournament

At Normal

Game 1 -- Bloomington Central Catholic vs. Kankakee McNamara, 6:30 p.m.

Game 2 -- Elmhurst IC Catholic vs. Breese Central, 8 p.m.
