Finals Decided In Several Boys Basketball Regionals

Teutopolis High School will square off against Marshall for the championship of the Class 2A Marshall Boys Basketball Regional Friday evening.

T-town had already advanced to the title game by beating Pana 76-31 Tuesday evening. Marshall then advanced with a 69-40 win over Shelbyville Wednesday evening.

The champoinship is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday. The winner will advance to the Benton Sectional next Wednesday against the winner of the Lawrenceville Regional.

Semifinals for the Lawrenceville Regional are scheduled for tonight. Top-seeded Lawrenceville will face Flora at 6 p.m. followed by No. 2 Mount Carmel against No. 3 Robinson at 7:30. The title contest is set for 7 p.m. Friday.

Also advancing to the Benton Sectional will be winners from the West Frankfort Regional and the Carmi-White County Regional and those regional winners will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Playing for those titles are Carterville against West Frankfort Friday at 7 p.m. for the West Frankfort Regional and Harrisburg against Fairfield at 7 p.m. for the Carmi-White County Regional championship.

In Class 1A play at the Red Hill (Bridgeport) Regional, Edwards County (Albion) defeated Cisne 57-31 Wednesday evening followed by Red Hill over Grayville 62-54. Edwards County will meet Red Hill at 7 p.m. Friday for the championship.

In the Odin Regional, top-seeded Odin defeated Mulberry Grove 66-59 to advance to the title game against the winner of the Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran vs. Patoka game tonight at 7 p.m.

Also playing for championships Friday evening will be Altamont against Nokomis in the Class 1A Stewardson-Strasburg Regional at 7 p.m. and Dieterich taking on Casey-Westfield at 7 p.m. in the Class 1A Oblong Regional.

The winners advance to the Effingham St. Anthony Sectional next Tuesday and Wednesday. The Stew-Stras Regional winner meets the Red Hill Regional winner at 7 p.m. Tuesday while the Odin Regional winner takes on the Oblong Regional winner at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
