(Chicago, IL) -- Michael Kidd-Gilchrist led a balanced attack with 18 points and 12 assists as the Hornets beat the Derrick Rose-less Bulls, 98-86, at the United Center. Chicago was playing its first game since learning Rose is out indefinitely with a torn meniscus in his right knee.

Mo Williams scored 17 points, while Al Jefferson had 16 to go with seven boards for Charlotte, which put an end to its five-game losing streak. Brian Roberts added 12 points off the bench in the victory. Pau Gasol posted 25 points, 13 boards and four blocks for the Bulls, who had won six of seven coming in. Jimmy Butler netted 14 points in the setback.


Heat Pull Off Stunning Comeback Against Magic

(Orlando, FL) -- Victor Oladipo missed a three pointer in the final moments of overtime as the Magic fell apart in a 93-90 loss to the Heat at the Amway Center. Orlando led by eight with 37 seconds left in the fourth quarter before Henry Walker made two threes in the final 22 seconds to send the game to an extra five minutes. Hassan Whiteside piled up another double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds, while Luol Deng paced Miami with 21 points. The Heat have won three of four. Nikola Vucevic had a game-high 26 points along with eight rebounds in the loss. Oladipo finished with 13 points and 13 boards for Orlando, which had a three-game winning streak come to an end.


Hawks Rally Past Mavericks

(Atlanta, GA) -- Dennis Schroder led a balanced attack with 17 points off the bench as the Hawks cruised past the Mavericks 104-87 at Philips Arena. All five Hawks starters scored in double figures, led by Kyle Korver with 16 points.  Paul Millsap added 15 points and eight rebounds for Atlanta, which outscored Dallas 57-34 in the second half. The Mavs played without guard Rajon Rondo, who was suspended one game for arguing with head coach Rick Carlisle.  Monta Ellis scored 19 points to pace Dallas, which had its three-game winning streak snapped.


Celtics Crush Knicks

(Boston, MA) -- Evan Turner recorded his first career triple double helping the Celtics cruise to a 115-94 victory against the Knicks at the TD Garden.  Turner finished with 10 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Boston trailed by one at halftime then outscored New York by 22 in the second half. Jonas Jerebko knocked down 7-of-10 shots for 20 points off the bench as the Celtics have won two straight. Lou Amundson, Jason Smith and Langston Galloway each posted 14 points in the defeat. The Knicks fell to 0-16 without Carmelo Anthony.


Rockets Slip Past Clippers Late

(Houston, TX) -- In a close battle between Western Conference heavyweights, the Rockets edged the Clippers 110-105 at the Toyota Center. James Harden had 21 points and 10 assists for Houston, while Corey Brewer added 20 points off the bench. The Rockets managed to pull away late after the teams exchanged leads most of the game. DeAndre Jordan posted 22 points and 19 rebounds in a losing effort. Chris Paul added 22 points and 14 assists for the Clippers, who lost their second straight.


Pelicans Handle Nets

(New Orleans, LA) -- Quincy Pondexter dropped in 25 points to help the Pelicans bounce the Nets 102-96 from the Smoothie King Center. Tyreke Evans tallied a 15-point, 11-assist double-double, while Omer Asik added 12 points and 13 rebounds. Dante Cunningham chipped in 13 points for New Orleans, which won its third straight. Joe Johnson led the Nets with 21 points and 10 boards and Thaddeus Young scored 19 points off the bench. Brook Lopez and Jarrett Jack finished with 15 points each off the pine as Brooklyn saw its two-game winning streak end.


Bucks Cruise Past Sixers

(Milwaukee, WI) -- The Bucks took a 17-point lead in the first quarter and never looked back in a 104-88 spanking of the Sixers. Khris Middleton scored 19 points for Milwaukee, who were never seriously threatened by Philadelphia. Michael Carter-Williams debuted for the Bucks and had seven points, eight assists, and two steals against his former team. John Henson added 21 points for the Bucks, who have won five of seven. Philadelphia got 16 from Jason Richardson and 11 from Isaiah Canaan. The Sixers have lost five straight.


Timberwolves Win In Garnett's Return

(Minneapolis, MN) -- After an emotional introduction in Kevin Garnett's return to Minnesota, the Timberwolves pulled out a 97-77 win against the Wizards at the Target Center. "KG" finished with five points, eight rebounds in two blocks, playing for the first time since being traded to the T'wolves at the trade deadline. He spent the first 12 years of his career with the organization.  Kevin Martin had a game-high 28 points for Minny, which had lost three of its previous four. Washington shot 38-percent from the field and turned the ball over 19 times. John Wall struggled missing 8-and-10 shots and scored only five points. Otto Porter Junior paced the Wizards with 13 as they have gone 2-and-10 in their last 12.


Lakers Edge Jazz

(Salt Lake City, UT) -- The Lakers went 6-for-6 from the line in the final 18 seconds to knock off the Jazz 100-97 at EnergySolutions Arena. Jordan Clarkson led the way with 22 points, while Wayne Ellington added 15 points and 10 rebounds. Jordan Hill kicked in 16 points off the bench as Los Angeles picked up back-to-back wins for the first time since mid-December. Gordon Hayward led Utah with 20 points and Rudy Gobert went for 16 points and 14 boards. Derrick Favors recorded 18 points for the Jazz, who slid to 21-35.


Suns Drop Nuggets

(Denver, CO) -- The Suns ended a five-game losing streak with a 110-96 win over the Nuggets at the Pepsi Center behind Eric Bledsoe's 18 points, six rebounds and six assists.  His new backcourt partner Brandon Knight put up 19 points and six assists. Rookie T.J. Warren added 10 points and seven rebounds off the bench in only 20 minutes. Phoenix had lost eight of its previous nine  Will Barton tallied a game-high 22 points with eight rebounds for Denver. The Nuggets shot 38-percent from the field as they dropped their fourth straight. Denver was without Kenneth Faried and Wilson Chandler.


Kings Beat Grizzlies With Huge Fourth Quarter

(Sacramento, CA) -- Rudy Gay dropped in a game-high 28 points as the Kings beat the Grizzlies 102-90 at Sleep Train Arena. Sacramento outscored Memphis 26-13 in the fourth quarter. DeMarcus Cousins chipped in with 16 points, nine rebounds and six assists for the Kings, who have won two of three. Ben McLemore also had 16 points, while Jason Thompson totaled 10 points, 11 boards and four blocks in the victory. Zach Randolph recorded 20 points to pace the Grizzlies, who had won their previous two. Marc Gasol added 14 points, seven boards and six assists in the setback.


Blazers Smoke Spurs

(Portland, OR) -- Wesley Matthews went off for a season-high 31 points as the Trail Blazers cruised to a 111-95 win against the Spurs at the Moda Center.  Damian Lillard added 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Nicolas Batum chipped in 15 and nine helpers. Portland outscored San Antonio by 15 in the second half on its way to stopping a two-game losing streak. Tim Duncan compiled 20 points and eight rebounds in the loss. Tony Parker missed 7-of-8 shots and finished with 2 points and four turnovers. San Antonio only leads the Thunder by two games for the seventh spot in the Western Conference.
