Hornets Topple Wizards, NBA Roundup

(Charlotte, NC) -- The Hornets used a big fourth quarter to defeat the Wizards 94-87 at Time Warner Cable Arena. Gerald Henderson dropped 27 points for Charlotte, which was down by seven to open the fourth. The Hornets immediately went on a 7-0 run to tie the game, and were able to pull away late. Charlotte has won three straight, all without Kemba Walker. Paul Pierce had 19 points to lead Washington. The Wizards have lost a season-high five in-a-row.


Cavaliers Rock Clippers

(Cleveland, OH) -- The Cavaliers made easy work of the Clippers grabbing a 105-94 victory at Quicken Loans Arena behind 23 points and nine assists from LeBron James. Cleveland was up by 31 going into the fourth quarter before letting up on the gas pedal. Kevin Love chipped in 24 points and nine rebounds, while J.R. Smith hit four threes on his way to 16 points. The Cavs have won 12 straight. Chris Paul had 10 points and nine assists, but shot 4-of-14 in the loss. Blake Griffin posted a team-high 16 points for Los Angeles, which has lost three of four. Cleveland swept the Clippers in the two-game season series.


Mavericks Crush Kings

(Sacramento, CA) -- With Dirk Nowitzki sitting out to rest, Monta Ellis led the charge with 21 points and six assists as the Mavericks cruised past the Kings 101-78 at Sleep Train Arena.  Tyson Chandler logged a double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds to help Dallas win for the fourth time in five games. J.J. Barea and Devin Harris each chipped in 15 points in the victory. DeMarcus Cousins paced Sacramento with 23 points and 11 boards in a losing effort. Rudy Gay added 11 points as the Kings lost for the 10th time in 12 games.


Blazers Blast Suns With 42-Point Fourth Quarter

(Portland, OR) -- The Trail Blazers outscored the Suns 42-22 in the fourth quarter en route to a 108-87 win at the Moda Center. LaMarcus Aldridge racked up 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Robin Lopez had 11 points, 12 boards and four blocks against his former team. Nicolas Batum netted a game-high 20 points and Wesley Matthews added 14 to go with eight rebounds for the Blazers, who have won two in-a-row since a three-game skid. Markieff Morris scored 18 points and Eric Bledsoe donated 17 for Phoenix, which has lost three straight and five of its last seven. Alex Len left in the third quarter with a right ankle sprain.


Bulls Resume Road Trip Saturday In New Orleans

(New Orleans, LA) -- The Bulls resume their six-game road trip Saturday in New Orleans against the Pelicans. Chicago has lost three straight since opening the trip with a win at Golden State. The Bulls sit at 30-20 overall. The 26-23 Pelicans play the Thunder tonight in Oklahoma City.
