Finals Set For LIC Boys Tournament

NEWTON -- The finals have been set for the Little Illini Conference Boys Basketball Tournament after two games were contested Wednesday evening at Newton High School.

In consolation bracket action, Robinson edged Olney 53-51 while Paris downed Red Hill (Bridgeport) 56-43. For Olney, Tate Nohren scored his 1,000 career point. Nohren is the grandson of Monty and Jolene Nohren of Effingham.

Friday's finals feature Lawrenceville against Casey-Westfield at 8 p.m. for the championship. Flora faces Marshall for third place at 6:30 p.m. Robinson and Paris square off for the consolation championship at 5 p.m.
