The Dieterich Movin Maroons and Teutopolis Wooden Shoes posted wins, while the Stewardson-Strasburg Comets and St. Anthony Bulldogs took losses in action Saturday at the 3rd Annual St. Anthony Shootout. The games were heard on KJ Country 102.3 and www.kjcountry.com.

Here's a recap on each game:

WALTONVILLE 51, STEWARDSON-STRASBURG 44

The Comets had umpteen chances to win this contest, as they pulled within two or three points on numerous occasions, but could never get over the hump.

Waltonville shot 54% from the field.

Aaron Blythe had a great game for the Comets, scoring 20 points. Stew-Stras is now 4-9 on the season.

TEUTOPOLIS 51, DECATUR EISENHOWER 49 (2OT)

This was the best game of the day for the fans. Eisenhower led most of the game, but the Shoes came back for the win.

The game was tied at 8-8 after one quarter, but the Panthers outscored the Shoes 24-17 in the middle two quarters and held a 32-25 advantage heading to the fourth quarter. That's when the Shoes, however, kicked it in gear, outscoring Eisenhower 15-8 in the period to send the game to overtime tied 40-40. Each team scored five in the first extra period and the Shoes outscored Eisenhower 6-4 in the second overtime to claim the win. Teutopolis posted the win despite leading scorer and rebounder Brette Mette rolling an ankle that left him unavailable for much of the fourth quarter and the overtime periods.

The Shoes won despite making just 38% of their shots, hitting 18 of 48 attempts. The Shoes made 13 of 20 foul shots, turned the ball over 20 times and pulled down 35 rebounds while making just two of 17 three point tries.

Despite the injury, Brett Mette still led Teutopolis in scoring with 12 points while Brock Mette added 11 points.

Teutopolis improved to 14-2 with the win.

LAWRENCEVILLE 57, ST. ANTHONY 48

This was a strange game.

Lawrenceville was outsized, so pushed the ball up the floor early in the contest and led 18-10 after one quarter. The second quarter was a different story, though, as the Indians scored just six points and the Bulldogs pulled to within 24-21 at halftime.

Lawrenceville burst out of the gate in the second half, however, and regained much of their lead before St. Anthony had another spurt and sat within 39-35 after three quarters. The Bulldogs could never catch up, though, and some late miscues and a return to Lawrenceville's early in the game success enabled them to outscore the Bulldogs 18-13 in the period and post the victory.

St. Anthony shot 42% from the field, making 16 of 38 shots, but the Bulldogs made just 12 of 22 foul shots and unforced turnovers were again a problem.

Derek Rios led the Bulldogs with 13 points while Kyle Hartke added 12 points.

St. Anthony is now 10-6 on the season.
