Bulls Run Past Rockets, NBA Roundup

(Chicago, IL) -- Pau Gasol poured in 27 points and pulled down 14 rebounds as the Bulls ran past the Rockets, 114-105, in Chicago. Jimmy Butler added 22 points for the Bulls, who outscored the Rockets 31-16 in the fourth quarter to earn their third straight win. Derrick Rose had 19 points and nine assists in the win. Josh Smith finished with 21 points for Houston, which has dropped two-of-three. James Harden scored 20 while Dwight Howard had 12 points and 14 boards in the loss.


Sixers Sink Cavaliers

(Philadelphia, PA) -- The 76ers earned their first home win of the season beating the shorthanded Cavaliers, 95-92, at the Wells Fargo Center. Philadelphia had dropped its previous 14 in the City of Brotherly Love. Tony Wroten posted a team-high 20 points off the bench with eight assists. Michael Carter-Williams added 18 points, 13 helpers and six boards. The Sixers improved to 5-and-28 and no longer have the worst record in the NBA. Cleveland was without LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. Kevin Love went off for 28 points and 19 rebounds in the defeat. Tristan Thompson posted 18 points and nine rebounds. The Cavs also didn't have Dion Waiters, who they moved to the Thunder in a three-way trade right before tip-off. Cleveland is getting J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert from the Knicks.


Mavericks Knock Off Nets In OT

(Brooklyn, NY) -- Monta Ellis netted 19 points as the Mavericks knocked off the Nets in overtime 96-88 in Brooklyn. Dirk Nowitzki dropped in 15 points to pass Moses Malone for seventh on the NBA's all-time scoring list. Rajon Rondo scored only two points on 1-of-13 shooting, but grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 14 assists. Dallas has reeled off six straight wins. Brook Lopez collected 22 points and 13 boards for the Nets in their second straight loss. Jarrett Jack had 20 points and 10 assists in defeat.


Hornets Clip Celtics

(Boston, MA) -- Kemba Walker scored 33 points to lead the Hornets to a 104-95 win over the Celtics in Boston. Cody Zeller added 20 points in Charlotte's second straight win. Gerald Henderson totaled 13 points and eight assists in the win. Jared Sullinger finished with 22 points, eight boards and four blocks for Boston, which has dropped three in-a-row. Jae Crowder and James Young each had 13 points off the bench in the loss.


Nuggets Hand Timberwolves 12th Straight Loss

(Minneapolis, MN) -- Arron Afflalo dropped in a game-high 34 points as the Nuggets knocked off the Timberwolves 110-101 at the Target Center. J.J. Hickson had 16 points and 11 rebounds off the bench, while Kenneth Faried added 15 points and seven boards for Denver, which has won two in-a-row after a three-game skid. Jusuf Nurkic donated 14 points, six boards and four blocks in the victory. Gorgui Dieng posted 22 points and 12 boards to pace the T'wolves, who fell to 5-28 with their 12th straight loss. Andrew Wiggins netted 20 points and Shabazz Muhammad scored 19 in the setback.


Grizzlies Dominate Knicks

(Memphis, TN) -- Mike Conley posted 22 points, seven assists and seven rebounds helping the Grizzlies cruise to a 105-83 win against the Knicks at the FedExForum. Marc Gasol added 14 points, with eight boards and four helpers for Memphis, which has won four of five. The Grizz shot 52-percent as a team.  With the loss, New York now has the worst record in the NBA at 5-31. Quincy Acy compiled a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds off the bench.  Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire both didn't play. J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert were both traded to the Cavaliers right before the game tipped off.


Wizards Clip Pelicans

(New Orleans, LA) -- A balanced scoring effort lifted the Wizards to a 92-85 win over the Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center. John Wall had a double-double with 15 points and 12 assists, while Paul Pierce added 14 on 6-of-8 shooting. Washington ended a three-game losing streak. Anthony Davis posted 21 points and 10 rebounds in the defeat. Eric Gordon made his return to the lineup, playing 33 minutes and scoring six points with five assists. Gordon had missed the last 21 games with a shoulder injury. The Pelicans are 5-5 in their last 10.


Pacers Hold Off Jazz

(Salt Lake City, UT) -- Roy Hibbert had 22 points and eight rebounds as the Pacers held off the Jazz, 105-101, in Utah. Luis Scola scored 16 off the bench for Indiana, which improved to 2-and-1 on its four-game road trip. Rodney Stuckey and C.J. Miles added 13 points apiece in the win. Derrick Favors finished with 27 points and 11 boards for the Jazz, who have dropped two-of-three. Gordon Hayward had 24 points and seven rebounds in the loss.


Blazers Sneak Past Lakers

(Portland, OR) -- Damian Lillard scored 16 of his 39 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Trail Blazers to a 98-94 win against the Lakers at the Moda Center. Lillard added in six rebounds and five assists. LaMarcus Aldridge contributed 21 points and eight boards for Portland, which has won five of six.  Los Angeles was without Kobe Bryant due to rest. Jordan Hill paced the Lakers with 23 points and 14 rebounds, while Jeremy Lin put up 14 off the bench. LA is 2-2 in its last four.


Hawks Dump Clippers

(Los Angeles, CA) -- The Hawks concluded an impressive trip out west with a 107-98 win against the Clippers at STAPLES Center behind 23 points eight rebounds from Paul Millsap. Atlanta went 3-0, also picking up wins over the Blazers and Jazz. Jeff Teague chipped in 20 points, nine assists and four steals in the victory.  Blake Griffin piled up 26 points, 10 boards and six helpers for Los Angeles, which had a three-game winning streak come to an end. Chris Paul had a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists.


Warriors Rout Thunder

(Oakland, CA) -- Harrison Barnes netted 23 points to lead the Warriors in a 117-91 rout of the Thunder at ORACLE Arena. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson added 19 points apiece for the Warriors, who have won four in-a-row. Draymond Green donated 11 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and three blocks in the victory. Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant combined to shoot just 8-of-37 from the field. Westbrook had a team-high 22 points and Durant ended with 14 points and 10 boards for OKC, which had won four-of-five coming in. Anthony Morrow posted 17 points and 10 boards off the pine in defeat.
