Altamont, S'ville/Stew-Stras/Windsor, T-town JV Fall at Okaw Valley Girls Tournament

BETHANY -- Altamont High School picked up a victory over LSA then fell to Tri-County to exit the Okaw Valley Girls Basketball Tournament Monday evening.

Iin the opening contest of the evening in consolation bracket play, Altamont was a 49-28 winner over LSA. The Indians took a 10-8 opening quarter lead and led 25-17 at halftime. Altamont continued to hammer away with a 12-3 third period run.

Hosick scored 14 while Biggs chipped in with 10 for the winners.

Okaw Valley then downed Shelbyville/Stew-Stras/Windsor 54-37 in winner bracket action. Okaw Valley led 37-35 going into the final quarter but came back to lead by nine with a little over five minutes remaining in the contest. Okaw Valley ended up outscoring Shelbyville/S-S/Windsor 17-2 in the final period.

Goralski led Shelbyville/Stew-Stras/Windsor with 11 points while Carson added 10.

Altamont then fell to Tri-County 57-39 to exit the tournament. Tri-County edged out to a 15-12 opening quarter lead and led 29-22 at halftime. Altamont came back in the third quarter to pull within 40-34 but Tri-County put together a 17-5 final period run.

Duckwitz scored 17 for the Indians. Biggs led in rebounds with eight.

The Teutopolis Junior Varsity downed Blue Ridge 64-30 in consolation bracket play. But T-town then fell to Oakwood 40-32 to leave the tournament. No other information was provided.

In the other winner bracket game, Heyworth edged Chrisman 41-37.

Today's finals find Tri-County against Oakwood for the consolation championship at 4 p.m. followed by  Shelbyville/Stew-Stras/Windsor taking on Chrisman for third place at 5:30 and Okaw Valley facing Heyworth for the championship at 7 p.m.
