Class 1A Effingham Sacred Heart Regional

Martinsville was a 25-8 winner over Cisne in opening round play at the Sacred Heart Regional Tuesday evening.

Tryelaine led the winners with 10 points. Scarbrough scored four for Cisne.

Martinsville advances to face Sigel St. Michael at 6 p.m. Thursday. In the other game Thursday, Sacred Heart faces Dieterich.

Class 2A Oblong Regional

Effingham St. Anthony downed North Clay (Louisville) 36-6 to advance to the championship game Thursday.

The Bullpups stepped out to a 14-0 first quarter lead and never looked back. Shae Kinkelaar scored 18 for the Bullpups. North Clay was led by Coble with five.

In the second game, Oblong won over Edwards County (Albion) 30-23.

St. Anthony will meet Oblong at 6 p.m. Thursday for the regional title.

Class 8-2A Stewardson-Strasburg Regional

Altamont and Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor advanced to the title contest with victories Tuesday evening.

Altamont won over Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick 39-23. Altamont held a 24-9 halftime lead and had a 13-6 third period surge. Grimsley scored 14 and Schultz 10 for the winners. G. Smith led BCCH with six.

In the second game, Stew-Stras/Windsor trounced Nokomis 31-6. Stew-Stras/Windsor held a 15-4 first half lead. Tabbert scored 12 for the winners who improve to 16-6.

Altamont will meet Stew-Stras/Windsor at 6 p.m. Thursday for the regional championship.

Class 8-3A Arthur Regional

Teutopolis moved into the championship game of this regional with a 25-13 win over Sullivan.

T-town broke a 5-5 opening quarter tie and led 13-12 at halftime. T-town then had a 12-1 second half run.

Savannah Grimes led the Shoes with nine points. T-town improves to 16-7 and will face Cumberland for the title Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The game will be played at Atwood Elementary School.

Cumberland downed Arthur, 27-13.

Class 3A Casey-Westfield Regional

Jasper County saw its season come to an end with a 31-30 loss to Casey-Westfield Tuesday evening.

Casey-Westfield stepped out to a 10-0 first quarter lead and led 17-5 at halftime. Jasper County came back with a 21-9 second half surge to send the game into overtime. C-W then won in the overtime period.

Eliza Bierman scored 10 points for Jasper County. Riggleman led Casey-Westfield with 16.

In the opener Tuesday evening, Red Hill (Bridgeport) edged Robinson Nuttall 23-20. Red Hill will now face Casey-Westfield for the championship Thursday at 6 p.m.
