The St. Anthony Bulldogs did some things better in Tuesday night's loss to Sullivan, but shooting the ball was not one of them. That led to a 48-38 loss at the hands of the Redskins at the Enlow Center in a game heard on 979XFM and www.979xfm.com.

St. Anthony cut their turnovers to 12, far fewer than in their two losses in last week's Thanksgiving Tournament, and outrebounded Sullivan 27-26, but the ball just wouldn't go in the basket.

The Bulldogs made just 15 of 46 shots for 33%, made just two of six foul shots for 33%, and made four of 12 three-point tries for 33%.

St. Anthony held Sullivan to 38% shooting, 15 of 39, including four of 10 three-point attempts. The Redskins hit 14 of 21 from the line; not great, but they outscored the Bulldogs 14-2 at the charity stripe. Sullivan turned the ball over just nine times.

No one scored in double figures for St. Anthony. Derek Rios led with nine points, Andrew Gardewine and Kyle Hartke with seven each, Jeff Niebrugge six, Zach Gardewine five, Nick Grunloh three, and James Kabbes one.

Rios led with six rebounds, Hartke, Niebrugge and Grunloh with four each, Kabbes with three, Zach and Andrew Gardewine with two each, and Connor Greene and Braden Puckett with one each.

The Bulldogs dropped their third straight game to fall to 2-3 on the season. Sullivan, which did not play in a Thanksgiving tournament, is 1-1 on the campaign.

St. Anthony won the JV game 64-39. Drew Gibson led the JV Bulldogs with 10 points and Patrick Tegeler and Alex Beesley each scored nine points in the first JV game of the season.
