(Salt Lake City, UT)  --  Pau Gasol sank a pair of free throws with three seconds left to give the Bulls a 97-95 win over the Jazz at EnergySolutions Arena.  Gasol totaled 23 points and nine rebounds, while Derrick Rose put up 18 points and five assists in his first game back since November 13.

Jimmy Butler led all scorers with 25 to help Chicago avoid a third straight loss.  Derrick Favors paced Utah with 21 points and 15 rebounds, while Enes Kanter had 19 points.  Trey Burke tallied 18 points and 10 assists for the Jazz, who have dropped three in-a-row and six of eight.


Clippers Clobber Reeling Hornets

(Charlotte, NC) -- Blake Griffin had 22 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists as the Clippers clobbered the Hornets 113-92 in Charlotte. Chris Paul also scored 22 points to go along with 15 assists for Los Angeles, which has won three of its last four. Jamal Crawford added 21 points off the bench in the victory. Cody Zeller finished with 17 points for the Hornets, who have dropped six in-a-row. Al Jefferson netted 16 in the loss.


Cavaliers Maul Magic

(Cleveland, OH) -- LeBron James poured in 29 points and dished out 11 assists as the Cavaliers mauled the Magic 106-74 in Cleveland. Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love had 12 points apiece for the Cavs, who put the brakes on a four-game skid. Anderson Varejao ended with 14 points in the victory. Victor Oladipo had 22 points and nine boards for the Magic, who have lost their last two games. Nikola Vucevic collected 18 points and 13 rebounds in a losing effort.


Blazers Keep Sixers Winless

(Philadelphia, PA) -- LaMarcus Aldridge led the way with 33 points and 11 rebounds as the Trail Blazers turned back the 76ers 114-104 in Philadelphia.  Wesley Matthews added 17 points for the red-hot Blazers, who ran their winning streak eight. Damian Lillard chipped in with 16 points in the win. Michael Carter-Williams had 24 points to pace the Sixers, who have opened the season with 14 straight losses. Henry Sims scored 22 points, while Tony Wroten added 20 points and nine assists in defeat.


Raptors Hold Off Suns

(Toronto, Ontario) -- Jonas Valanciunas put up 27 points and 11 rebounds as the Toronto Raptors held off the Phoenix Suns 104-100 from the Air Canada Centre. DeMar DeRozan added 23 points, and Louis Williams netted 17 off the bench as Toronto has won five consecutive games. Eric Bledsoe poured in 25 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the loss. Isaiah Thomas and Gerald Green combined for 29 points off the Suns' bench as Phoenix had its four-game win streak comes to a close.


Harden Leads Rockets Past Knicks

(Houston, TX) -- James Harden led the charge with 36 points, six rebounds and six assists as the Rockets defeated the Knicks 91-86 at the Toyota Center.  Donatas Motiejunas tallied 13 points and hauled in eight boards, and Trevor Ariza scored 10. Dwight Howard sat out his third straight game with a strained knee. Houston avoided a three-game losing streak with the win. Carmelo Anthony was the lone Knick in double figures with 14 points. Jose Calderon and Travis Wear both put up nine as New York fell to 4-and-11 on the season.


Pacers Run Past Mavericks

(Dallas, TX) -- Donald Sloan dropped in 29 points as the Pacers ran past the Mavericks with a 111-100 win in Dallas. Luis Scola collected 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Pacers, who have won three-of-four. Solomon Hill and Rodney Stuckey had 12 points apiece in the win. Monta Ellis scored a team-high 24 points for the Mavs, who have dropped two straight on the heels of a six-game winning streak. Dirk Nowitzki had 22 points and 11 rebounds in defeat.
