TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis and Effingham split victories in seventh and eighth-grade girls basketball competition Thursday evening.

T-town bounced the Mustangs 47-3 in seventh-grade action. T-town held a 29-0 first half lead. Effingham scored two points in the third quarter and one in the final period.

Busher led the winners with 12 points while Brumleve chipped in with 10. Niebrugge had two for Effingham who drops to 7-11. T-town is now 22-0.

In the eighth-grade contest, the Mustangs held a 22-4 halftime lead and went on for a 39-11 victory to improve to 17-1. T-town drops to 15-7.

Fearday tallied 15 for the Mustangs. Savannah Grimes led T-town with seven.

At Beecher City

Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor and Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick split National Trail Conference wins Thursday evening.

BCCH claimed a 37-20 win in the seventh-grade game. Jaelyn Robertson connected on six field goals and two free throws to lead BCCH with 14 points while Lauren Wojcik chipped in with 12. Hayes led Stew-Stras/Windsor with 10.

In the eighth-grade contest, Stew-Stras/Windsor was a 42-16 winner. BCCH held a 5-4 first quarter lead but Stew-Stras/Windsor came back with a 19-1 second quarter run and never looked back. BCCH improves to 11-8.

Schlechte tallied 18 anad Tabbert 12 for the winners. Grace Smith led BCCH (9-11) with nine.
