Junior High Boys Basketball -- Nov. 6

ALTAMONT -- Teutopolis claimed two wins over Altamont in junior high boys basketball competition Thursday evening.

T-town stepped out to a 31-16 halftime lead and went on for a 51-26 win over Altamont. Jacob Pals, Mitch Hemmen and Mitch Hardiek provided 10 points each in even scoring for T-town. Altamont was led by Kollman with 10.

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town picked up a 57-34 victory. Once again T-town stepped out to a halftime lead, 28-17.

Dawson Smith scored 19 for the winners while Clint Weber had 12 and Josh Hardiek 10. Altamont was led by Briggs with 11.

At Strasburg

Stewardson-Strasburg picked up the seventh-grade contest while Beecher City was a winner in eighth-grade play Thursday evening.

Stew-Stras took an 8-1 first half lead and then had to fight off a final quarter challenge by Beecher City for a 12-10 victory. Stew-Stras was led by Kirby with six as the squad improved to 1-0 in the National Trail Conference, 2-0 overall. Doty led Beecher City with four.

In eighth-grade action, Beecher City took an 8-0 first quarter lead and claimed a 29-19 victory. Stewart tallied 15 while Bober added 10 for the winners. A. Burton scored eight for Stew-Stras who drops to 0-1 in the conference, 1-1 overall.
