Bulls Beat Bucks In Rose's Return

(Milwaukee, WI) -- Pau Gasol racked up 22 points and 14 rebounds as the Bulls beat the Bucks 95-86 at the Bradley Center. Derrick Rose posted 13 points and seven assists in his return to the lineup.  He missed the last two games with two sprained ankles. Taj Gibson had 23 points and 10 boards and Jimmy Butler racked up 14 points, seven helpers, six boards and four steals in Chicago's third straight win. Giannis Antetokounmpo totaled 13 points and eight boards off the bench to pace the Bucks, who are 2-3 to open the year. Brandon Knight notched 10 points, nine boards, seven assists and five steals but shot just 3-of-15 from the field.


Hornets Cut Up Heat

(Charlotte, NC) -- Al Jefferson went to work posting 28 points and 10 rebounds leading the Hornets to a 96-89 victory against the Heat at Time Warner Cable Arena. Kemba Walker added 18 points on 5-of-6 shooting, while Cody Zeller contributed 13 and eight boards off the bench. Charlotte ended a three-game losing streak to get to 2-3. Chris Bosh had a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds in the loss. Dwyane Wade was the only other Miami player in double figures with 25 points, seven assists and four boards. The Heat shot 39-percent on their way to 3-2.


Harris Beats Buzzer, Magic Top 76ers

(Philadelphia, PA) -- Tobias Harris hit a game-winning, buzzer-beater to lift the Magic to a 91-89 victory over the 76ers from Philadelphia. Henry Sims tied the game at 89-all for the Sixers with just under five seconds left.  Harris ended with 18 points and eight rebounds while Channing Frye had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Orlando moved to 1-4. Nerlens Noel finished with four points in 16 minutes before spraining his ankle. Tony Wroten had a game-high 27 points and eight assists as the Sixers slipped to 0-5.


Pistons Sink Knicks

(Auburn Hills, MI) -- The Pistons held off a late Knicks fourth quarter rally to pull out a 98-95 win at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Greg Monroe dropped in 23 points and grabbed 18 rebounds, while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope broke his shooting slump knocking down four from deep. Caldwell-Pope finished with 20 points. Detroit got its first win in its fourth try. It was a second straight off night for Carmelo Anthony, who shot 5-of-21 from the field for 13 points, eight assists and six rebounds. Tim Hardaway Junior came off the bench to score 20 points. The Knicks have lost two straight to fall to 2-3.


Timberwolves Top Nets In Brooklyn

(Brooklyn, NY) -- Kevin Martin dropped in a game-high 26 points and Andrew Wiggins added 17 as the Timberwolves topped the Nets 98-91 at the Barclays Center.  Minnesota used a 9-0 run to end the game to pull out the win. Ricky Rubio just missed a triple-double as he finished with 14 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds for Minnesota, which evened its record at 2-2. Nikola Pekovic posted 16 points and 11 boards and Thaddeus Young had 10 points and 11 rebounds in the victory. Joe Johnson netted 22 points to pace the Nets, who have also split their first four games. Deron Williams donated 19 points and Jarrett Jack scored 14 off the bench in defeat.


Spurs Edge Hawks Late

(San Antonio, TX) -- Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili both made a pair of clutch free throws down the stretch to lift the Spurs to a 94-92 win over the Hawks at the AT&T Center. Duncan recorded 17 points and 13 boards and Tony Parker chipped in 17 points and seven assists. Ginobili scored 12 off the bench and Kawhi Leonard and Boris Diaw each added 11 for San Antonio, which improved to 2-and-1 on the year. DeMarre Carroll and Paul Millsap led the way with 17 points apiece as Atlanta dropped to 1-2. Mike Scott totaled 12 points off the bench in defeat.


Wizards Sink Pacers

(Washington, DC) -- John Wall posted 31 points, 10 assists and six rebounds to carry the Wizards to a 96-94 overtime win over the Pacers from D.C. Roy Hibbert missed a three-pointer near the buzzer that would have won it for the Pacers. Garrett Temple added 16 points and seven boards for Washington, which improved to 4-1. Marcin Gortat chipped in with 14 points and 10 rebounds in the win. Donald Sloan tallied 31 points and seven assists for Indiana, which dropped to 1-4. Chris Copeland notched 19 points and 12 boards off the bench in the loss.


Jazz Beat Cavaliers At Buzzer

(Salt Lake City, UT) -- Gordon Hayward knocked down a 21-foot jumper as time expired giving the Jazz a 102-100 win over the Cavaliers in Salt Lake City.  LeBron James had hit a three and made three free throws to tie the game at 100 before Cleveland fell at the buzzer. Hayward finished with 21 points, seven assists and four rebounds, while Derrick Favors posted a double-double with 21 and 10 boards. Utah improved to 2-3. In only their fourth game together, the Cavs were only able to tally six assists on 30 made baskets. James had four of them to go along with 31 points. Kyrie Irving piled up 34 points on 23 shots for the Cavs, who are 1-3.


Grizzlies Beat Suns To Remain Perfect

(Phoenix, AZ) -- Mike Conley led the way with 24 points and 11 assists as the Grizzlies beat the Suns 102-91 at US Airways Center. Memphis outscored Phoenix 56-39 after halftime.  Courtney Lee netted 22 points in his return after missing two games with a concussion. Marc Gasol posted 18 points and six boards for the Grizzlies, who are off to their best start in franchise history at 5-and-0.  Zach Randolph donated 10 points and six boards in the victory. Eric Bledsoe scored 23 points, but turned the ball over nine times. Markieff Morris added 20 for the Suns, who fell to 3-2. Isaiah Thomas tallied 15 points off the pine in defeat.


Kings Crush Nuggets

(Sacramento, CA) -- The Kings romped the Nuggets, 131-109, as they swept the home-and-home at Sleep Train Arena. Sacramento was led by DeMarcus Cousins' 30 points and 11 rebounds in 22 minutes.  Cousins also fouled out. Rudy Gay added 29 points on 9-of-12 shooting helping the Kings improve to a surprising 4-1 mark. Randy Foye scored a team-high 19 points off the bench in the loss. Ty Lawson and Wilson Chandler each posted 13 points for Denver, which fell to 1-3.


Warriors Hammer Clippers

(Oakland, CA) -- The Warriors shot 58-percent from the field including 15-of-25 from three-point range as they cruised to a 121-104 victory over the Clippers at ORACLE Arena. Steph Curry led the way with 28 points and seven assists while Draymond Green chipped in with 24 points and grabbed eights boards. Klay Thompson added 19 points for Golden State, which kicked off the season 4-0. Jamal Crawford paced the Clippers with 24 points off the bench while Chris Paul recorded a double-double scoring 15 points and dishing out 12 dimes. DeAndre Jordan also had a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds as LA dropped its second game in its last three.
