(Chicago, IL) -- Jimmy Butler had 21 points and nine rebounds to lead the shorthanded Bulls to a 98-90 win over the Magic at the United Center. Pau Gasol  added 16 points and 13 boards for the Bulls, who were without Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah. Taj Gibson netted 16 points in the victory.  Tobias Harris had 21 points and nine rebounds for Orlando, which has opened the year with four straight losses. Nikola Vucevic finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds in the loss.

Bulls star Derrick Rose did not play in last night's win over the Magic. Despite taking part in the team's shootaround earlier Tuesday, Rose missed the game with sprained ankles. Rose was injured in last Friday's loss to the Cavaliers. Meanwhile, Joakim Noah also missed the game with the flu.


Bucks Hold Off Pacers

(Indianapolis, IN) -- Brandon Knight's hot start to the season continued as the Bucks clipped the Pacers 87-81 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Knight paced Milwaukee with 23 points and seven rebounds.  Jabari Parker was the only other starter in double figures with 10 for the Bucks, who evened up their record at 2-2. Indiana turned the ball over 19 times leading to 28 Milwaukee points. Chris Copeland had a team-high 19 points off the bench in defeat. The Pacers are 1-3.


Harden, Howard Carry Rockets Past Heat

(Miami, FL) -- James Harden and Dwight Howard stole the show, leading the Rockets to a 108-91 stomping of the Heat at AmericanAirlines Arena. Harden just missed a triple-double with 25 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds, while Howard posted 26 points and 10 rebounds. Trevor Ariza and Patrick Beverley combined for nine threes as Houston hit 17 as a team. The Rockets improved to 5-0. Chris Bosh had a team-high 21 points and eight rebounds in the loss.  Dwyane Wade put up 19 points for Miami, which took its first loss of the season in its fourth game.


Raptors Rock Thunder

(Toronto, Ontario) -- Twenty-one Thunder turnovers led to 30 Raptors points in Toronto's 100-88 win at the Air Canada Centre. After the first quarter, the Raptors outscored Oklahoma City 77-to-58. DeMar DeRozan had a team-high 16 points in the victory, while Patrick Patterson added 14 points and eight rebounds. Toronto has won three-of-four to start the season. Serge Ibaka's 25 points and 11 rebounds wasn't enough for the banged up Thunder. Perry Jones got added to the list of hurt players after leaving with a knee injury. Reggie Jackson chipped in 13 points and 14 assists as Oklahoma City fell to 1-4.


Wizards End Knicks' Winning Streak

(New York, NY) -- Paul Pierce took it to the Knicks with 17 points and five rebounds, helping the Wizards cruise to a 98-93 victory at Madison Square Garden. Washington outscored New York by 20 after halftime.  Garrett Temple added 17 points, while John Wall chipped in 11 with seven assists. The Wizards improved to 3-1. It was a rough night for Carmelo Anthony, who was 8-of-23 from the field and turned the ball over seven times in the defeat. Iman Shumpert paced the Knicks with 19 points and hit all four of his three-point attempts. New York fell back to .500 at 2-2.


Davis Leads Pelicans Past Hornets

(New Orleans, LA) -- Anthony Davis racked up 24 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Pelicans past the Hornets 100-91 at the Smoothie King Center. Tyreke Evans notched 16 points, 10 boards and five assists and Omer Asik added 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Pelicans, who evened their record at 2-2. Jrue Holiday chipped in with 16 points and nine assists in the victory. Gary Neal netted 21 points and Al Jefferson had 20 for Charlotte, which has lost three straight since a season-opening win over Milwaukee. Kemba Walker was the only other player in double figures with 11 points.


Trail Blazers Roll Cavaliers

(Portland, OR) -- The Trail Blazers were hitting on all cylinders, knocking down nearly 50% of their shots to roll the Cavaliers 101-82 at the Moda Center.  Damian Lillard dropped 27 points and dished out seven assists while Wesley Matthews added 21 in the win. Robin Lopez chipped in 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting and LaMarcus Aldridge finished with 16. Portland improves to 2-2 and snaps a two-game slide. Kevin Love put up a 22-point 10-rebound double-double in the loss with LeBron James adding 11 with seven assists. Kyrie Irving went 3-of-17 and finished with nine points as Cleveland falls to 1-2.  


Suns Sneak By Lakers

(Los Angeles, CA) -- The Suns bench stepped up to lift them to a 112-106 win against the Lakers at the STAPLES Center. Reserves Isaiah Thomas and Gerald Green combined for 48 points with Thomas adding in nine assists. Markieff Morris posted a 23-point, 10-rebound, double-double as Phoenix has beaten Los Angeles twice on its way to 3-1. Kobe Bryant went off for 39 points, but took him 37 shots in 44 minutes. Jeremy Lin added 18 points for the Lakers, who have lost all five of their games to start the season.
