The Altamont seventh-grade Lady Wildcats finished third at the National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Tournament Saturday in Dieterich. Brownstown/St.Elmo captured the championship of the National Trail Conference Girls Seventh-Grade Basketball Tournament Saturday.

BSE beat Neoga 23-17. Wilhour tallied nine and Oberlink eight for the winners. Titus scored nine for Neoga.

Altamont captured third place by downing Sigel St. Michael 28-19. The score was knotted at 6-6 after one quarter before Altamont had a 10-0 second quarter run for a 16-6 halftime lead then had a 10-2 third period surge.

Runge scored 10 for the winners. St. Michael was led by McWhorter with nine.

In the consolation championship, Dieterich edged Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick 18-14. BCCH held an 8-5 first half lead and led 12-9 going into the final quarter. Dieterich came back with a 9-2 final period run to pull out the victory.

Bierman scored six to lead the winners. Wocjik led BCCH with eight.

At Teutopolis

In the Teutopolis Shootout, T-town defeated Champaign Franklin 35-12 in the seventh-grade contest. T-town held Franklin scoreless in the first half while taking a 20-0 lead. Alli Brumleve scored 10 points for the winners.

In the eighth-grade game, T-town was a 33-18 winner. Morgan Mette scored 11 and Julia Frey 10 for T-town.

In games three and four, Decatur Robertson defeated Champaign Franklin in seventh-grade play 19-16 and in eighth-grade action 23-20.

In the fifth and sixth games, T-town was a 48-7 winner over Decatur Robertson in seventh-grade play. T-town took a 36-3 halftime lead. Claire Bushur had 15 points and Brumleve 11. T-town is now 12-0 on the season.

In eighth-grade competition, T-town was a 43-36 winner. T-town led 20-12 at halftime and 33-22 going into the final period. Emma Deters and Frey scored nine points each for the winners. T-town is now 8-4 on the season.

At Robinson

Jasper County picked up a win and suffered a loss in the eighth-grade portion of its conference tournament during the weekend.

Jasper County defeated Palestine/Hutsonville 38-16. Mallory Bergbower tallied 14 points.

Jasper County then fell to Oblong 45-24. Bergbower scored 13 points.

In the seventh-grade tournament, Jasper County blanked Martinsville 34-0. Josie Grunloh scored nine points for the winners. The squad will be back in action in the tournament tonight facing Marshall.
