Rose Drops 30 But Bulls Fall To Cavaliers

(Columbus, OH) -- Derrick Rose dropped 30 points in 24 minutes of action but the Bulls suffered a 107-98 loss to LeBron James and the Cavaliers from Columbus. Pau Gasol and Taj Gibson each added 12 points in defeat. The Bulls wrap the preseason Friday against the Timberwolves in St. Louis.

Bulls guard Jimmy Butler will undergo an MRI today on his thumb. Butler injured the left thumb in Sunday's exhibition win over the Hornets and missed last night's game against the Cavaliers. Early indications are that the thumb is sprained and won't require surgery.


Wizards Drop Loss To Pelicans

(Baltimore, MD) -- Garrett Temple had 13 points as the Wizards fell 88-84 to the Pelicans at Royal Farms Arena downtown in preseason action. Kevin Seraphin added 14 points and five rebounds for Washington, which dipped to 4-3. The Wiz wrap the preseason tomorrow against the Knicks.


Mayo Leads Bucks Past Knicks

(New York, NY) -- O.J. Mayo dropped in 24 points to lead the Bucks to a 120-107 win over the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jared Dudley both donated 14 points for Milwaukee, which improved to 3-3 in preseason play. The Bucks wrap up the exhibition slate tomorrow at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves.


76ers Fall At Nets

(Brooklyn, NY) -- Henry Sims and Tony Wroten scored 13 points apiece but the 76ers lost 99-88 to the Nets in Brooklyn. Elliot Williams and Hollis Thompson added 11 points each for Philly, which slipped to 2-5 in preseason play. Nerlens Noel sat for the third straight game due to an upper respiratory infection.  The Sixers wrap up the exhibition slate on Thursday at Detroit.


Hawks Edge Hornets In OT

(Atlanta, GA) -- Paul Millsap scored 21 points and Kyle Korver had 17 as the Hawks edged the Hornets 117-114 in overtime at Philips Arena. Mike Scott added 16 points for Atlanta, which improved to 3-3 in preseason play. The exhibition season ends Wednesday at the Spurs.


Mavericks Hold Off Grizzlies

(Dallas, TX) -- Tyson Chandler posted 14 points and eight rebounds as the Mavericks held on to beat the Grizzlies 108-103 at American Airlines Center. Monta Ellis also netted 14 points, while Richard Jefferson added 13 for Dallas, which evened its preseason record at 3-3. The Mavs play the Pelicans on Thursday in New Orleans.
