Effingham split victories with Charleston in junior high school girls basketball competition Thursday evening.

Charleston won the seventh-grade game 32-8. Charleston was led by two players in double figures, Nicholson with 12 and Wilson with 10. Effingham was led by Niebrugge with four.

In eighth-grade play, Effingham was a 41-11 winner. Fox tallied eight, Weis and Fearday had seven each.

At Pana

Pana Sacred Heart picked up two victories over Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor. Sacred Heart won the seventh-grade contest 28-12 taking a 10-0 first quarter lead. Stauder led the winners with 10 points. Stew-Stras/Windsor drops to 3-6.

In eighth-grade action, Sacred Heart won 30-22. Schoonover had 16 points and Holland 12 points. Tabbert led Stew-Stras/Windsor with nine. Stew-Stras/Windsor drops to 5-2.

Paris Mayo picked up two wins over Jasper County. Paris Mayo won the seventh-grade contest 35-18.

In eighth-grade play, Paris Mayo was a 35-17 winner. Mallory Bergbower had 12 points for Jasper County.
