Effingham Downs Neoga in Seventh, Eighth Grade Action

Effingham won over Neoga in both seventh and eighth grade girls basketball action Friday.

Effingham won the seventh grade contest 32-21. It was 10-6 Effingham after one quarter, 20-11 at halftime and 24-15 after three periods. Effingham outscored Neoga 8-6 in the final stanza.

Krouse led Effingham with 15 points. Also for Effingham: Allie-4, Crowell 4, Niebrugge 4, Kull 2, Byers 2, Martin 1. For Neoga: Titus 8, Partlow 4, Titus 3, Sheehan 2, Rupel 2, Kepp 2.

Effingham won the eighth grade game 49-7. Effingham led 25-0 after one quarter, 33-1 at halftime, and 45-3 after three quarters. Each team scored four points in the fourth quarter.

Fearday led Effingham with 11 points. Also for Effingham: Koester 8, Schafer 8, Kuhlman 4, Weis 4, Gephart 4, Herboth 4, Fox 4, Buscher 2. For Neoga: Hill 4, Easton 2 Walk 1.

Effingham's seventh graders are now 2-3 on the season; Effingham's eighth graders are 4-1.
