EIU Women's Basketball Complete Schedule Released

CHARLESTON, Ill.-- Eastern Illinois women’s basketball has released its completed schedule for the 2014-15 season as the Ohio Valley Conference portion of the schedule is now complete. EIU will open the OVC season on New Year’s Day hosting Tennessee Tech at home with a 1 p.m. start. The final home conference game for the Panther women is against UT Martin on Feb. 25.
 
The OVC has changed its format for the 2015 tournament with the top eight teams advancing to the OVC Tournament in Nashville and the elimination of a divisional format. EIU plays home OVC games against Tennessee Tech, Jacksonville State, Belmont, Austin Peay, Murray State, SIU Edwardsville, Southeast Missouri and UT Martin this season. The Panthers road conference games are at Tennessee State, Eastern Kentucky, Morehead State, UT Martin, Southeast Missouri, Austin Peay, Murray State and SIU Edwardsville.   
 
The OVC Tournament will take place March 4-7 at Nashville Municipal Auditorium with the No. 1 and No. 2 seeded teams playing the No. 7 and No. 8 seeded teams. Teams seeded 3-through-6 will meet on Thursday with winners from each day advancing to Friday’s semifinal round.
 
EIU previously released its non-conference schedule which tips off with a home game against Kansas City on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. in Lantz Arena. EIU has additional home non-conference games with Northern Illinois, Nebraska Omaha, Illinois-Chicago and Saint Louis. EIU’s non-conference road games are at IUPUI, Loyola-Chicago, UW Milwaukee and Western Illinois. The Panthers will play in two tournaments at North Texas and Arizona State.
