EIU Women's Non-conference Schedule Announced

CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Eastern Illinois women’s basketball head coach Debbie Black has announced the Panthers non-conference schedule for the 2014-15 season as she begins her second season leading the program.  The Ohio Valley Conference portion of the schedule will be released in early September as the league has changed its scheduling format for this season.
 
The Panthers will open the 2014-15 season at home facing UMKC with a 2 p.m. start time in Lantz Arena. That will be the first of five non-conference home games before the OVC season begins in January. Northern Illinois will come to Lantz Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 26 for a 2 p.m. game. The Panthers host Nebraska Omaha on Friday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. The final game home game before the winter break will have EIU hosting in-state opponent Illinois-Chicago on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. EIU returns to action on Sunday, Dec. 28 against Saint Louis with a 2 p.m. start in the final non-conference game on the slate.
 
EIU will play four non-conference games on the road in addition to appearing in two tournaments. The first road game will be Tuesday, Nov. 18 at IUPUI. The Panthers visit Loyola-Chicago on Saturday, Nov. 29. A two-game swing on the road takes place Wednesday Dec. 10 and Friday, Dec. 12 with games at UW Milwaukee and Western Illinois.
 
The Panthers will play at the North Texas Hospitality Hills Tournament in Denton, Texas the weekend prior to Thanksgiving with an opening round Friday game against Florida State. EIU closes out the tournament against host North Texas. EIU will play in the Arizona State Wells Fargo Holiday Tournament prior to Christmas with games set for Dec. 20-21. The other three teams in the tournament field are host Arizona State, Northwestern and Lehigh.

Dec. 28 – Saint Louis, 2 p.m.
