DECATUR -- Leighton Lark of Effingham has indicated he plans to attend Millikin University and play basketball for Big Blue head Coach Matt Nadelhoffer. An Honor Roll student, Lark plans to major in Business at Millikin.

“We are excited to have Leighton join the Big Blue family,” said Nadelhoffer. “Leighton is a sneaky athlete and plays with a high motor and high IQ. We believe his best days are ahead for him as he gets stronger and makes the adjustment to the college game. He will be a great addition to our program and I am thankful he chose Millikin.”

Lark earned three varsity letters in basketball at Effingham High School. As a senior, he was his team’s top scorer and Most Valuable Player. He was named to three all-tournament teams and named to the Decatur Herald and Review All Area Team. As a senior, Lark averaged 13.4 points and five rebounds per game shooting 60 percent from the field and 49 percent from three point range.

Nadelhoffer is looking for a few key recruits to add to the wealth of talent that returns for the Big Blue. Nadelhoffer is on track in his mission of restoring a winning tradition to the Millikin men’s basketball program.
