Wizards Steal Game One From Pacers

(Indianapolis, IN) -- The Wizards are out to a 1-0 series lead on the top-seeded Pacers after a 102-96 win at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Bradley Beal posted 25 points with seven rebounds and seven assists while Trevor Ariza poured in 22 points. Marcin Gortat had 12 points and 15 rebounds while John Wall added 13 points and nine assists for Washington, which outrebounded the Pacers 53-36. Paul George had 18 points with six rebounds and five assists while George Hill also scored 18 points in defeat. David West added 15 points and 12 boards for Indiana, which hosts Game Two on Wednesday.


Clippers Crush Thunder In Game One Of Western Conference Semifinals

(Oklahoma City, OK) -- The Clippers mauled the Thunder, 122-105, in Game One of the Western Conference semifinals in Oklahoma City behind a monster effort from Chris Paul. "CP3" exploded for 32 points on 12-of-14 shooting, including 8-of-9 from behind the arc. Paul also added 10 assists. Blake Griffin posted 23 points, five rebounds and five assists. LA shot 55-percent from the field on its way to a 1-0 series lead. Game Two is Wednesday at Chesapeake Energy Arena. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook combined for 54 points on 18-of-33 shooting. The rest of the roster combined for 51 points and shot 40-percent on 52 attempts. It was the largest home loss in Thunder history.


Carter-Williams NBA Rookie of Year

Philadelphia 76ers point guard Michael Carter-Williams has been named the NBA's Rookie of the Year. Carter-Williams, the 11th overall pick of last year's draft out of Syracuse, averaged 16.7 points, 6.3 assists and 6.2 rebounds. He joined Oscar Robertson (1960-61) and Alvin Adams (1975-76) as the only players since 1950-51 to lead all rookies in those categories. Carter- Williams received 104 of a possible 124 first-place votes and a total of 569 points from a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada to outdistance Orlando's Victor Oladipo for the award.
