Wizards Steal Game One From Bulls

(Chicago, IL) -- The Wizards outscored the Bulls by 12 in the fourth quarter to grab Game One, 102-93, in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals from the United Center. Nene led the way with 24 points and eight rebounds in 35 minutes.  Nene hadn't crossed the 30-minute mark since February 22. Washington was able to pull out the victory despite John Wall and Bradley Beal combining to shoot 7-of-25  D.J. Augustin and Kirk Hinrich paced Chicago with 16 points apiece. Joakim Noah tallied 10 points, 10 boards and four assists. The Bulls will try to take Game Two Tuesday night to avoid heading to Washington down 0-2.


Spurs Take 1-0 Lead On Mavericks

(San Antonio, TX) -- Tim Duncan totaled 27 points and seven rebounds as the Spurs beat the Mavericks 90-85 in Game One of their Western Conference quarterfinal series at the AT&T Center. Tony Parker pitched in with 21 points and six assists and Kawhi Leonard posted 11 points and 10 rebounds for the top-seeded Spurs, who take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven set. Manu Ginobili added 17 points off the bench in the victory. Devin Harris scored a team-best 19 points off the pine to pace Dallas. Dirk Nowitzki and Monta Ellis were held to 11 points apiece and both shot just 4-of-14 from the field in the setback. Game Two is Wednesday in San Antonio.


Heat Handle Bobcats

(Miami, FL) -- LeBron James scored 27 points with nine rebounds to help the Heat earn a 99-88 win over the Bobcats in Game One of their Eastern Conference quarterfinals series. The Heat are up 1-0 in the best-of-seven series.  Dwyane Wade added 23 points and five assists for Miami, which is looking to "three-peat" as the NBA's champions. Chris Bosh chipped in with 13 points in the win. Al Jefferson posted 18 points and 10 boards for Charlotte, which stays in South Florida for Game Two on Wednesday. Kemba Walker tallied 20 points, six assists and five rebounds in the loss.


Blazers Sneak Past Rockets In Game One

(Houston, TX) -- James Harden missed a contested jumper as time expired in overtime to give the Trail Blazers a 122-120 win over the Rockets in Game One of the Western Conference quarterfinals at the Toyota Center. LaMarcus Aldridge posted franchise playoff record 46 points and 18 rebounds before fouling out in the OT. Damian Lillard added 31 points, nine boards and five assists. Portland erased 12-point deficit in the second half of the final quarter to force the extra session. Harden scored 27 points, but was 8-of-28 from the field and 3-of-14 from behind the arc. Dwight Howard posted a double-double with 27 points and 15 rebounds. Game Two is Wednesday night in Houston.
