Pistons Pound Hawks

(Atlanta, GA) -- Andre Drummond dropped in 19 points with 17 rebounds as the Pistons pounded the Hawks 102-95 at Philips Arena. Rodney Stuckey scored a game-high 29 points for Detroit, which has won two straight. Greg Monroe chipped in with 21 points and 13 boards in the win. Paul Millsap tallied 24 points and 12 rebounds for Atlanta, which is now a game and a half up on New York for the final postseason spot in the East. Jeff Teague helped out with 15 points and nine assists in defeat.


Nets Top Heat

(Miami, FL) -- Marcus Thornton hit a three-pointer with 1:40 left in the game to give the Nets the lead for good in an 88-87 victory over the Heat in Miami.  Thornton ended with 16 points off the bench for Brooklyn, which is two back of Chicago and Toronto for the third seed in the Eastern Conference. Joe Johnson tallied 19 points to pace the Nets, who swept the four-game season series with the Heat. LeBron James scored 29 points with 10 rebounds and six assists for Miami, which holds a half-game lead on the Pacers for the top spot in the East. Chris Bosh added 12 points and six boards in defeat.


T'wolves Sink Spurs

(Minneapolis, MN) -- Kevin Love posted 19 points and 12 rebounds to help the Timberwolves top the Spurs 110-91 at the Target Center. Ricky Rubio scored 23 points and dished out seven assists to pace Minnesota, which has won three of four. Gorgui Dieng added 12 points and 15 boards in the win. Boris Diaw and Cory Joseph scored 13 points each for San Antonio, which has lost two of three. Tim Duncan had 10 points and six rebounds in the loss. The game was rescheduled after being postponed in Mexico City in December.


Mavericks Maul Jazz

(Salt Lake City, UT) -- Dirk Nowitzki scored 21 points to pace the Mavericks to a 95-83 win over the Jazz in Salt Lake City. He is now 10th on the all-time NBA scoring list. Monta Ellis added 16 points and five assists for Dallas, which is a game back of Golden State for the six seed in the West. Vince Carter chipped in with 13 points in the win. Derrick Favors totaled 19 points and seven rebounds for Utah, which has lost two straight. Enes Kanter tallied 15 points and 19 rebounds in defeat.


Thunder Top Kings

(Sacramento, CA) -- Kevin Durant and Caron Butler each scored 23 points to pace the Thunder to a 107-92 win over the Kings in Sacramento. Durant's streak of scoring at least 25 points ended at 41 straight games. Serge Ibaka added 19 points for Oklahoma City, which is three and a half games clear of the Spurs for the top spot in the Western Conference. Reggie Jackson chipped in with 13 points and five assists in the win. DeMarcus Cousins tallied 24 points and 14 rebounds for Sacramento, which has lost three straight. Travis Outlaw also scored 24 points in the loss.


Rockets Rout Lakers In LA

(Los Angeles, CA) -- James Harden and Terrence Jones scored 33 points apiece in the Rockets' 145-130 rout of the Lakers at Staples Center. Chandler Parsons posted 19 points and eight assists, while Omer Asik had 10 points and 15 boards for Houston, which won its third straight and remains fourth in the Western Conference at 52-25. Donatas Motiejunas added 13 points and 15 boards in the victory. Nick Young netted 32 points off the bench to lead the Lakers, who have lost five straight and seven of their last eight overall. Jodie Meeks chipped in with 30 points in defeat.


Bulls Battle Wolves Tonight

(Minneapolis, MN) -- The Bulls take on the Timberwolves tonight in Minnesota. Chicago is 45-32 and currently sits tied with the Raptors for the third seed in the East with five games to play. The T'wolves are just 38-38 on the season. Tip from Target Center is set for 7:00.
