EHS Girls Basketball Awards Presented At Banquet

Members of the Effingham High School girls basketball team garnering awards at the banquet were, left to right, Maddy Field, Caitlin Kaufman, Lauren Stephenson, Stephanie Robb, Josie Zerrusen, Felicia Totten and Brittany Beals.

Effingham High School honored athletes in girls basketball Saturday evening at the Hearts Rock Cafe with a banquet and awards ceremony.

Coach Jeff Schafer presented awards. Josie Zerrusen captured seven awards. Zerrusen won for rebound leader (218), assist leader (128), steals leader (55), The Charge award, Hustle award, Most Valuable Player and Miss Basketball. She also was one of the team captains.

Caitlin Kaufman picked up three awards. Kaufman won the blocks leader award with 12, the highest free throw percent with 75.8 and the three point field goals with 71. Kaufman also was a team captain.

The other two teams captains were Stephanie Robb and Lauren Stephenson. Stephenson won the Max Wolfe Sportsmanship award.

Other awards went to Felicia Toteen for Best Defensive Player, Maddy Field for Most Improved and Brittany Beals for Most Improved.

Letterwinners were Josie Zerrusen, Caitlin Kaufman, Stephanie Robb, Lauren Stephenson, Jantzen Micheal, Felicia Totten, Maddy Field, Brittany Beals, Taylor Crowell and Marranda Steffen.

Junior varsity basketball awards went to Shelby Nunamaker for Most Improved, Amber Vonderheide for Hustle and Taylor Crowell for Best Defensive Player.

Freshman/sophomore basketbll awards went to Mikayla Greene for Most Improved, Taylor Conkling for Best Defense and Sidney Webster for Hustle.
