Xavier Falls To Villanova

(Cincinnati, OH) -- Darrun Hilliard the Second posted 19 points to help No. 6 Villanova beat Xavier, 77-70, at the Cintas Center Thursday. Justin Martin posted 20 points and six boards in the loss. The Musketeers finished the regular season 20-11 overall and 10-8 in the Big East. If Providence loses to Creighton Saturday, Xavier will be the three-seed in the Big East Conference Tournament. If Providence wins the Musketeers will be the fourth-seed.  Postseason play begins Wednesday, but Xavier won't see the court until Thursday.


Cincinnati Dumps Memphis

(Cincinnati, OH) -- No. 15 Cincinnati scored 59 points in the second half to cruise past No. 20 Memphis, 97-84, at Fifth Third Arena. Sean Kilpatrick exploded for 34 points on 11-of-18 shooting as the Bearcats improved to 25-5 overall and 14-3 in the AAC. Cincinnati closes out the regular season at Rutgers Saturday.


MSU Wins

(East Lansing, MI) -- Michigan State pulled away in the second half to beat Iowa 86-76 at the Breslin Center last night. Travis Trice led the Spartans with 17 points, Adreian Payne had 14 and  Denzel Valentine added 13. MSU wraps up the regular season against Ohio State in Columbus on Sunday.     


Illini At Iowa

(Iowa City, IA) -- The regular season comes to an end Saturday for the Fighting Illini. Illinois plays at Iowa prior to starting the Big Ten Tournament.  Illinois is 17-13 and 6-11 in the conference while the Hawkeyes come in at 20-10 and 9-8 in the Big Ten.


Wildcats Fall To Penn State

(Evanston, IL) -- The Wildcats failed to put on any form of offensive show as they fell 59-32 to Penn State in the final regular season game at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Alex Olah had 14 points and five rebounds for Northwestern, which dropped to 12-18 and 5-12 in the Big Ten. The Wildcats end the regular season Sunday at Purdue.


Blue Demons Topped By Butler

(Rosemont, IL) -- Brandon Young tallied 24 points as the Blue Demons lost 79-46 to the Butler Bulldogs last night at Allstate Arena. Billy Garrett Junior chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds for DePaul, which dropped to 11-20 to finish the regular season and 3-15 in the Big East. The Big East Tournament starts in New York Wednesday.
