BRIDGEPORT -- Dieteirch High School continues to roll along. The Movin' Maroons had little trouble with Patoka in the Class 1A Red Hill (Bridgeport) Sectional Wednesday evening.

Dieterich stepped out to an early 16-9 lead and that kept the Maroons moving along for a 61-39 victory. The game was a revenge victory as Patoka had beaten Dieterich back in January.

Three players hit double digits for Dieterich. Tanner Traub knocked down four three-pointers and tallied 16 points while Alex Bohnhoff was just a step behind with 15 and Devin Aherin had 14. Aherin led the way in rebounds with 11 and had four steals. The Maroons were 15 of 29 from two point range and six of 18 from three point range. They connected on 13 of 18 free throws.

The Maroons took care of the ball, turning it over only nine times.

"We did a great job on the defensive end of the floor," said Dieterich Coach Jeff Staser.

Dieterich now moves on with a 22-8 record and will meet Effingham St. Anthony Friday at 7 p.m. for the championship of the sectional and a chance to move into the Sweet Sixteen.
