MLB Approves Protective Hats For Pitchers

(New York, NY) -- Major League Baseball is taking a step to protect its pitchers from batted balls. ESPN reports the league has approved protective caps that pitchers can wear while on the mound. After testing several prototypes from different manufacturers, MLB will use hats provided by the 4licensing Corporation. Use of the cap is optional for pitchers.
